The Zapper works on the principle of Electrostatic Precipitation (ESP). This is a century-old established technology wherein the polluted air is electrically cleaned instead of involving traditional filtration techniques. We, at Shushk Engineering have improved upon the traditional ESP devices with our patented Self-cleaning technology. Rotating motor [A] drives the rod [C] which in turn drives multiple gears [D] continuously. The scrapper [B] compresses the rotating assembly and thus cleans out any deposited impurity.
Zapper works on a cascading purification process. Polluted air makes its way through multiple pairs of Discharge and Collection electrodes, also called an Electrostatic cell. Each Electrostatic cell precipitates a large number of suspended particles from the air. Even under extreme dust/smoke loads, a cell is expected to remove more than 25% of the PM particles. This means a standard Zapper U-65 module of 8 cells removes more than 90% of the incoming PM particles. This is evident in the PM 1.0, PM 2.5 and PM 10 readings at the outlet of the device.
As we said, paired Discharge electrode [G] and Collection electrode [H] is called as an Electrostatic cell. The intense electric field produced between the two elements knocks off any particulate matter from the air stream and deposits on the Collection electrode. Catalyst embedded in Seperator plate [I] is responsible for neutralizing the harmful gases in the polluted incoming air. This catalyst is also a non-consumable like the rest of the system, which means that the entire machine has a minimal operating cost.
